About

Alexandra Savithri, M.A., is a Reiki Master, Vedic Healing Master, healer, and spiritual teacher, and founder of the American Reiki Academy, Los Angeles’ longest-running Reiki program, as well as the Vedic Healing Center. Her work is the culmination of more than 35 years devoted to Reiki, energy healing, meditation, mantra, Vedic spiritual practice, and the study of consciousness.

Her introduction to the healing arts came in 1989, when a single Reiki healing session changed the course of her life. In 1990, she received Reiki Level I training in the traditional Usui System of Natural Healing from Reiki Master Margaret Krum and began practicing Reiki. She then studied Reiki Level II and Reiki Mastership with Reiki Master Roxayne Veasey, who became her longtime spiritual mentor. She also studied crystal healing, craniosacral work, soul pattern clearing, and other energy healing modalities.

During this time, Alexandra developed clairaudient channeling abilities, receiving messages from the Angelic Realm that she began sharing with clients during healing sessions. Channeling has remained an integral part of her healing work ever since.

Upon moving to Los Angeles in 1991, Alexandra began practicing and teaching Reiki professionally. She founded the American Reiki Academy, leading Reiki circles and healing gatherings and building a community for shared healing and spiritual practice. Over more than three decades, she has trained thousands of students from around the world in all levels of Reiki, from Reiki Level I through Reiki Mastership. In Los Angeles, she also studied Feng Shui, which became part of her work with the energetics of homes and spaces.

In 1998, Alexandra traveled to South India, where she studied with Guruji Amritapadananda, who initiated her into Vedic Healing, a comprehensive spiritual practice encompassing meditation, mantra, pranayama, Vedic rituals, Sri Vidya teachings, and other sacred practices.

She began teaching Vedic Healing in Los Angeles in 1999, founding the Vedic Healing Center and establishing a small temple space where students gathered for classes, meditation, puja ceremonies, and spiritual practice. That same year, she led the first of many spiritual and cultural pilgrimages to India.

For nearly twenty years, Alexandra continued her Vedic Healing studies in India with Guruji, who gave her the spiritual name Savithri Amba. During these years, she also spent extensive time in ashrams and visiting temples in India, including the ashrams of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and Mata Amritanandamayi, deepening her practice of devotion and sacred ritual.

These years of study, initiation, and sustained spiritual practice profoundly shaped her understanding of the soul, the self, and the spiritual journey. In Los Angeles, she continued offering Vedic Healing courses and leading meditation, mantra, and sacred sound gatherings. The Vedic Healing Center also hosted visiting swamis and spiritual teachers from India.

The practices Alexandra learned and embraced in India became the foundation for her work with sacred sound. Rather than approaching sound as a separate healing modality, Alexandra draws upon her years of mantra, meditation, Vedic practice, Reiki, and intuitive healing, weaving these traditions together in immersive group experiences. Her gatherings today incorporate a personal collection of antique and traditional bells from India.

Alexandra holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English and comes from a family of educators. Teaching has remained a central thread throughout her life, and her approach combines the depth of traditional spiritual practice with clear, accessible, and highly personal instruction.

Today, Alexandra’s work draws upon a lifetime of healing, teaching, and spiritual exploration. She offers private healing sessions, Reiki and Vedic Healing instruction, mentorship, meditation and sacred sound gatherings, women’s empowerment circles, and pilgrimages to India.

She also hosts the Spiritual Wealth podcast and writes about spirituality, healing, and the traditions that have shaped her life.

Alexandra remains committed to honoring the teachers who so generously guided her and the traditions and practices that were entrusted to her.

The offerings on this website are lovingly dedicated to the memory of these teachers and to all who seek inner transformation.
